God is the supreme being.if anyone uses it just to impose authority and power, I think that is very blasphemous. God means that He is capable of anything, and anything is from Him. He can see through people, and know their weaknesses and strengths. He is capable of many wonders, even in the discovered there is still something unraveled.

The "name" GOD,,,is not really a "name",,,it is just a reference to that specific seat of authority. There are MANY "GODS" mentioned in history that are now or once were worshiped by some group of people at some place. If you are thinking about the "being" that the average person in America is talking about when they say the "name" "GOD",,,,,it is most often going to be a god with the name YAHWEH. This was the ancient "GOD" of the Hebrews that is worshiped by people who claim to adhere to the teachings of THE BIBLE.

Or Herne, Albion, Angus Og, Bel, Pwyll, Neit, Math, Mannan Mac Lir, Lugh, Gwynn Ap Nudd, Diancecht, Cernnunous.. and many others... realize how none of them results in "ah". Btw, the Dali Lama isn't a god.

The word "God" is actually not a name, it is a title. Look in the Bible at Psalm 83:18 and you will find the name of the God of the Bible there. PS Lord is also just a title. Example: Abraham was called Lord by his wife, but his NAME was Abraham.

"God" has an authoritative sound to it
because we've been brought up with God being an authoritative figure.
God is simply the English translation of the original world 'Allah'.
It doesn't matter what called is called,
just that we are worshiping the figure.

I think that one is for a reason. After all he is God. We should fear him. He created the universe and everything in it. As men we have only invented things, we have never created anything, God spoke and the earth appeared, something out of nothing. Man can't do that.

Yeah I noticed that. There has even been cultures or times where people couldn't even write the name God. They just wrote Gd since it had such holy significance.

Religion is the primary weapon of Fear, God is its big gun and Churches are the Nests, Preachers are Generals, and the fearful are its army. Its no wonder they need rules to live by they are so stupid they can't even think for themselves. Only retarded people need Religion.....
There are entirely too many retarded people on the planet... some day they will make a great source of slaves.

Maybe it's because he's powerful himself, hence when we pronounced the word God, there's a sense of awe, fear, and respect. I dont know, its my opinions. :)
