If both of you are financially independent then, who cares? It's you who are going o be married and making you wait till others elder sister is married sounds senseless. You can make then understand this or the other option left for you is to find a mate for your loved one's sister. That will solve the whole problem.

all these answers don't understand that there are religious road blocks for people living in the middle east... I believe you both need to sit down with his mother, along with his sister... and the three of you just might convince her... the thing that is necessary here is his sisters blessing...
