Hottest was probably about 115 Fahrenheit in Lubbock, Texas, USA.
Coldest was about -30 Fahrenheit in Tomsk, Siberia, Russia.
BTW, stig, the coldest temperature ever recorded on earth was -129 in Volstok station, Antarctica. The coldest ever in the USA was -80, in Alaska, of course. The coldest temperature ever recorded in Ohio was -39. I think you are just a tad off.

It got down to 0 degrees fahrenheit one morning, and up to 113 degrees fahrenheit one summer afternoon. Funny thing is, these records were within 6 months of each other.
