Homer is the ancient Greek writer and poet who had written an important work called Troja. In the antiquity the old Greek people believed in gods, like god Hercules, god Afrodita, god Fortuna and so one. Every feeling, state, or feature had a god: the god of the power, the god of the beauty, the god of the Sun, the god of the dream, the god of the music etc. So people were venerating every kind of god and like this those Greek people built an unique, special religion and civilization.

Hope this would help you a little.
