The US should be worried. The FOAB is 4x more powerful than America's biggest MOAB.
The new bomb is further proof that Russia's military has regained its technological edge. New ground and sea launched nuclear missiles have also been developed.
Russia has delivered a message of defiance to the West. Developed in secret, the unchristened bomb, a vacuum device capable of emitting shockwaves as powerful as a nuclear weapon, was unveiled... a mushroom cloud rises over a plain as Russia’s military test their latest weapon.
The weapon had "no match in the world."
Russia's FOAB is likely to cause further consternation in the West after a series of statements by the president, Vladimir Putin.
According to Russian generals, the bomb is four times more powerful than the American Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb or MOAB.
The new bomb is smaller than the MOAB but much deadlier because, due to nanotechnology, the temperature at the epicentre of the blast is twice as high.
Test results of the new airborne weapon have shown that its efficiency and power commensurates with a nuclear weapon
The main destruction is inflicted by an ultrasonic shockwave and an incredibly high temperature.
"All that is alive merely evaporates."
Mr Putin has ordered his long-range nuclear bombers to mount patrols in international airspace for the first time since the Cold War.
Last week, Russian Tupolev bombers approached British airspace for the fourth time in two months and sorties have also been flown close to US military installations.
In addition, the Kremlin has announced a £100 billion military modernisation programme.
The US should be very worried.

They are calling it the Daddy of all bombs. It has been declared more powerful than Americas Mother of all bombs. I asked this yesterday. It's worrying
Russia tests 'Dad Of All Bombs'
Russia's military has successfully tested what it describes as the world's most powerful non-nuclear air-delivered bomb.
Channel One television said the new ordnance, nicknamed the "Dad Of All Bombs" is four times more powerful than the US "Mother Of All Bombs".
"The tests have shown that the new air-delivered ordnance is comparable to a nuclear weapon in its efficiency and capability," Col Gen Alexander Rukshin, a deputy chief of the Russian military's General Staff, said.
Unlike a nuclear weapon, the bomb does not pose an environmental threat from the release of radiation, he added.
The statement reflected the Kremlin's efforts to restore Russia's global clout and rebuild the nation's military might.
The muscle-flexing comes at a time when ties with Washington have become strained over US criticism of Russia's slips on democracy, Moscow's vociferous protests against US missile defence plans and rifts over global crises.
The US Massive Ordnance Air Blast, a large-yield satellite-guided, air delivered bomb, had been described as the most powerful non-nuclear weapon in history.
Channel One said that while the Russian bomb contained about 7 tons of high explosives compared with more than 8 tons of explosives in the US bomb, it is four times more powerful because it uses explosives developed with the use of nanotechnology.

Russia has always led the race in arms, nukes, technology and otherwise. They care more about their military power than their own people.Fact is they are still communist. This bomb doesn;t mean anything, terrorists are still gonna terrorize and kill and do what terrorists do.When the anti-christ comes on the scene thats when its time to worry.

I read about it. As described it is essentially an anti-personnel weapon, designed to kill people. I forget exactly what they called it, but it sounds pretty bad.
I hope they control it better than they control their nukes. By the way, why is Russia developing new weapons when the country is in such bad economic shape?
