is there a birth control that you can take after you already had your period?

I already had my period this month actually it ended a couple of days ago...do i have to wait til next month to start a BC or not cuz every thing i read says you should start the first day of your period

I'd start taking them now, I've done it before. Especially if your period ended only a couple of days ago. Nothing bad will happen if you start taking it early. And any birth control will work. But go for the same does every day ones. Those with three different doses are a pain.

What did the doctor say to do when she/he prescribed them for you?

I've started it while not on my period and I'm fine. Just use protection (condom) for a week or two if you are or intend to be sexually active.
