There is no such a things owing to differences in tastes.
Thus, for some it might be a Rolls Royce or a Maybach, while it is a McLaren or a Humvee for some others.
Until, say, the early 80's, Rolls-Royce claimed to build the best cars in the world, and it was true, in my own opinion.
Since then, many new auto-builder came up on the stage; and many of them offered very good automobiles of outstanding quality and performance, to the point that it would be hard to chose one as the best. It all depend of subjective and personal considerations, as it is the case for food, restaurants, wine, clothes, etc.
I let other proposing their answers, but they are likely to be much different.

If there was a best car in the world everyone would have one and there would be no need for the others. Thats what the term means. Best, tops, none better. Every car will break, every motor will fail. there is no one best car.

It depends on what you want the car to do.
If you just want to carry yourself around and don't want to spend much money then you might have a very different idea of the best car compared to someone who wants to carry themselves, a spouse and five kids around.
