There is a lot of opportunities for learning at UNLV if you want to major in hotel management and there are some top, high class hotels there too. I would say UNLV is better for hotel management (cal poly is more known for their architecture and computer related majors)

I can't tell you much about transferring there; you would have to talk to someone in admissions there. But as to the comparison between UNLV and Cal Poly, both schools are excellent these days (I graduated from Cal Poly's program before it had become anything like it is today), and I think the difference would be what type of hotel you imagine managing; certainly, the focus at UNLV is on casino-style resorts.

Given the precise job marketplace data on your question, this is invaluable to to think approximately yet another occupation. In any adventure, except funds is not any merchandise, there is not any reason for a California resident who grow to be familiar at CPP to pass to UNLV.
