If it is for the person's well being I have told them! I hate breaking a trust so it would never be anything I would do without a lot of soul searching!

No, I had it the other way around once, someone told me something really shocking about herself hoping I would spread the news in the friendship circle so it can get out at last, she couldn't live with the lie anymore, but she picked the wrong one to break the ice for her. She asked me why I didn't tell everybody, I had the opportunity to be the first one to break some hot gossip, and I told her I don't do that. Then she said, she must have know I wouldn't tell, she has never heard me gossipping. So she told the "sensation addict" of the friendship circle and the next day everybody knew.

Yes. But there's different levels... some serious, some not so serious. I blurted out one of the really serious ones once, and I felt so bad afterwards (for years!) that I've never done it again, even with the not so serious ones. You feel better about yourself if you keep your mouth shut, and the more you keep it shut and protect your friends privacy, the easier it gets to keep those private secrets. It's probably something you have to learn the hard way unfortunately.

I normally don't have a problem with keeping somebody else's secrets, it's my own that I just can't shut up about it, especially when these relate to a surprise I have for someone I love..... I am terrible at that, I am just bursting with the desire of telling them all about it, just to see their expression!

I apologize in advance for that, babe!

ive only done it once cause my cousin showed me her arms and told me not to tell anyone she was cutting seriously. i still feel guilty for telling my mom, because i promised i wouldnt tell anyone, but she needed help and it was too big of a secret for me. i only tell if its physical injury or like, life or death, other than that, everything people tell me stays with me, no one else knows. i have soo many secrets from my friends its unbelieveable!

No...it was the opposite...i told someone close to me not to tell a very dark secret. this person promised not to. then two, yes, TWO days later, they tell someone else and are convinced it's ok to do so.

Depends. I always keep secrets.....unless I have extreme loyalty to the other person and they really need to know. But truthfully I like to stay out of that Stuff. Just who I am personally.

No. Trust and loyalty are extremely important to me.

If the secret was putting the person in danger, I would tell.

Yep... And I stopped telling things to my mom, because there is no way she can hold them for a minute without everybody within 10 mile radius knowing it.
