Many of us try to give love unconditionally, since it is an ideal. But, not all of us are patient or understanding - we only pretend to be. More often than not our examples are not fit for others to follow. Those who "need to be convinced by themselves before they see the need to change for the better" still have yet to overcome their egos.

It's best not to take the advice from someone who has never been married or divorced, or whose ego prevents him from seeing the need to change, and whose lack of experience does not put him in any position to offer meaningful advice.
