The difference is the way it is dosed. Birthcontrol is taken every day, Morning After is taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex. THe only Morning after is called Plan B. Levlen is a birth control. They are both hormons, and actually levlen and plan b both have the same hormone in them. There are so many different birth controls with so many different hormones so you and your dr would have to decide what is best for you.

Birth control pills are pills that you take on a regular basis to prevent pregnancy. The morning after pill is an emergency contraceptive that you take if you're not on any birth control and you had unprotected sex or the condom broke, etc. Birth control pills and the morning after pills are the same thing, but like I said birth control pills you take on a regular basis and the morning after pill, depending on what brand they are, you may take 5 of them within 5 days of the unprotected sex and then 5 more 12 hours later.

Levlen ED is a birth control pill bought only on prescription by your doctor. You take it everyday to prevent pregnancy.
The morning after pill is something you can get by prescription from the doctor if you had unprotected sex within 24-48hrs preceeding taking the tablets. I think you take 1 or 2 tablets within a certain time frame and it prevents (to a certain extent) you from falling pregnant. It is a once off thing where as birth control pills taken everyday protect you 24/7, 99% of the time anyway.
I used to take Levlen ED before I got my IUD and it is good. Except I found my libido was down when I was on it.
Best of luck and I hope that answers your question.

the birth control pill is a preventative built up in your system BEFORE having sex, and the morning after pill is a pill taken after the act has occurred, ie within a certain amount of hours following sex.

Birth Control=prevent conception
Morning after pill= something you take after unprotected sex up to 48 hours to prevent a pregnancy. Not sure of exact mechanics of how it works but I would assume it kills sperm left in vagina

birth control prevents pregnancy by preventing you from ovulating. the morning after pill prevents pregnancy by stopping a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterine lining, basically it is an abortion.
