Imagine a world where people never see their own image. In such a world, could they be vain about their looks?

maybe after seeing a number of people they would realize there were some people who were more pleasing to look at and some who were less, and would eventually long to see how they looked and since they couldn't, they would probably be more vain than us people with mirrors, because htey didn't exactly KNOW how pretty or unpretty they were.

Hmm, well, I dont think they'd be able to compare to those around them, becfause they'd never seen themselves, so they wouldnt have anything to go by.
And by the same token, it probably wouldnt be a concern because the concept wouldnt exist; therefore no-one would particularly consider it.
So, yeah, people would probably be quite a bit less vain about their looks, in that case.
Although I imagine it would be difficult to eradicate all reflective surfaces- including puddles.

i don't there should be a stability. ok looks entice me to start up with yet then its character there after. yet adult men are greater seen human beings as a result why porn is one in each and every of those huge marketplace. There will always be a possibility to look on their image because they are water around them that could confirm on their own image.

then you would have to imagine a world with no water or other materials to see our reflection
i believe we could still be vain becasue other people would tell us if we looked good or not

If they never saw what they looked like, I would think that they would picture themselves to look like the people around them--though, those would not all look the same. They might compare the color and size of their hands, etc., but would have no clue as to their facial or body qualities.

Yes. They would depend on how they looked in each other's eyes. It would be common to consistantly groom your friends and vice versa.
