Try to remember that being a lone is a good thing some times and it is the best time to look at where you came from and where you are going too. loneliness is when you are not thinking of what you have at all. It is like there is nothing there in our lives . There is so many things that we just over look them and feel as though it has all gone away. It's there and so are us out here. Nobody is truly alone. so there is nothing to get over it is something to think about. Thing that make you go HMMMMMMMMMM

Definitely get off the computer, there's evidence that computers make people feel lonelier even though they use it to find connections. Also, join some kind of group. I just joined a sport and it makes me really happy to go to practice a few times a week. Or you could join a support group or something (google the ones in your area). Find a way to structure your life so that you do stuff with people several times per week.

Loneliness can be overcome by becoming more social and talking to people. Talking makes people alert and physically and mentally fit by keeping you in action in physical and mental terms. You talk, laugh, get serious, get naughty and you use your senses appropriately and cultivate the power to respond properly. All this will keep you away from subconscious or conscious loneliness with a feeling of well being.

Get on yahoo answers and talk to strangers everywhere I go. You never know what kind of cool people you can meet if you just open up. Get a dog (if you don't already have one). They are great companions. If you don't wanna deal with the whole puppy thing, then go to the pound and get one that's around 2-3 years old with no health problems. Then take him or her for walks in a busy park. Guaranteed people will chat with you and be friendly when you have a dog with you. Good luck and don't be lonely!

The easiest way to deal with it is to learn to be Alone.Being alone is a matter of choice and not a deprivation.People go to any lengths to plan, work for and even pay, to be Alone. When alone, you are not lonely but are in a company of self, with your hobbies, finishing pending tasks, thinking about matters and relationships requiring focus and concentration, creativity of many types and sky is the limit.Give it an honest try and like many others, shall be thankful to the providence(or what ever )to have got this Golden opportunity of a life time.

Caring for someone else takes your mind off of yourself, and it also makes you a friend. You can't loose!

The sad truth is that those who wish to feel lonely are those that stay alone. You have to be vulnerable with friends and people in order to develop the deeper relationship that cures the lonely feeling.

My advice, GET OFF THE COMPUTER. Go call someone to have coffee or something.
