i don't think so sweetie, you can't SEE love, you can see the actions caused by it,but not love itself. so - i say,no. from a religious perspective, some may use that phrase, but that cannot be your life philosophy. have a lovely day jo ♥

Absolutely not. Let us consider the things you can't see that are definitely real and there.

Me, harmful radiation, safe radiation, air, the dark side of the moon, bacteria ... feel free to add to this list.

I'm thinking you don't believe in God, ghosts, angels or aliens. I will withold judgement but if you follow the logical pattern that mankind keeps discovering things that aren't obvious you have to expect more to pop up.

You cannot prove that something does not exist, you can only prove that it does. How's that for a philosophy to live by, or "I think, therefore, I am!"

We would be dead without the air that we breath. I don't see the air, do you? There is far more to life than what we see. We can't see our thoughts but don't we know they are real? Personally I would hate to live by that philosophy. Read some books on spirituality and maybe you will see things differently. At least you are beginning to think for yourself. Good luck.

It is a good philosophy to use, not all the time, but occasionally.

This is what you tell yourself when you are all alone and getting spooked because of shadows that look like it is something ghostly or monster like. Do you tell this to a child or were you ever told this as a child?

If it had served you well, then you will use it again with your own children.

It is defensive, it allows you to consolidate and gather your resources without scattering your energies to useless self paralysis from fear and continued scary thoughts.

It is realistic without being brutal. Its like whistling in the dark.

I don't believe she's talking about physical things, rather that certain ways of perceiving things aren't within our own consciousness,so they aren't there. Living by any philosophy is lame though. A witty saying proves nothing, as some clown once said.

Definitely a misleading philosophy. You can hear, smell and touch things that you can't see. You can also see things that are not there ( visual hallucinations). With your philosophy, you will deny yourself the awareness of 80% of reaity.

If a tree falls in the woods and noone is there to hear it, does it make a sound? YES!!!!! just cause you can't see something or hear something doesn't mean it don't exsist... For instance, I assume you never seem a million dollars in cold hard cash, doesn;t mean a million dollars does not exsist..... believe me, somewhere in this world there is a box or something with, what????? A MILLION dollars in it

No. That's a version of, "Seeing is believing". The Problem IS, not ALL good things can be "Seen". Not Faith; not Love; not Happiness... These things need to be "experienced" to be "real" -seeing someone ELSE doing them- is NOT the same. :)

If you mean "Don't believe anything unless there is good evidence", I would agree with you - up to a point.

We don't know everything about the universe. There may be some surprises around the corner which we hadn't expected.

no. i think we all need to believe there is 'something' out there, in order to give life a bit more depth and meaning. i'm not talking about a christian god or anything, just some sort of higher power. hmmm, a deep question for this time of the morning!!! x
