I don't know what girl you're talking about but look up Stockholm Syndrome and you might get some answers as to how this sort of thing can happen
Oh ok, reading the link you just posted - it doesn't mean relationship as in they were together or anything, it just means she knew one of the people in some way before they kidnapped her - she wasn't a random victim

They live in the same town and have known each other for years. She was dating one of the guys involved in this whole deal. I feel bad for her and the people of West Virginia. It is a great state with some of the best people in the world and this brings shame to them all.

I believe it says they were involved, on again off again sort of thing, though that is pretty irrelevant to what has happened to this girl now, how devastated her and her family must feel, I feel horrible and I don't even know them. Just like that little girl that was sexually abused and hung in her garage, wtf is going on....I am speechless..

Wait, the little girl was six years old. So do you mean that her mother was dating someone, or who? That is a very awful thing. This better not turn into an unsolved case. It said that police weren't saying much about it , so perhaps they'll find them.
