Can you make an ornament out of coloured toffee?

Question

Just wanted to colour toffeed sugar and strand it out to make an abstract ornament! Could i colour the sugar before it becomes brown, like put dye into crystals or water>
How would I keep the coloured sugar creation? ie airtight glass container???

I feel like being creative and want to know if this idea is at all possible.

I think it would flop if the weather gets too humid, because it's not durable. Did you watch Top Chef last year?
