I have a sweater I want to shorten. What is the best way to hem it when I cut it off so it will not ravel when washed?

Well, you can take it to a tailor to have the hem re-sewn or you can go to the fabric store & buy fabric hem tape. Just turn the sweater under to the length you want, then put the thin piece of tape in between the two pieces of fabric (on the inside of course) & then you take an iron & iron it & it will keep the hem in place. It will come with directions to tell you exactly what to do. I use to get mine at Joann's fabric stores.
