If I'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt, should I wear tennis shoes and white athletic socks (and if so ankle socks or crew socks) or should I wear something like Rockports and light brown casual dress socks?
What about jeans and a polo shirt?
I also have black Rockports.

If it's a t-shirt wear sneakers, but if you're wearing a collared shirt, you could wear the shoes.

depends on the color of your jeans blue jeans go well with any tennis shoe and ankle socks usually in summer but I prefer ankle socks all the time. if you have black Rockports they are so comfortable (I have them in brown and tan) when you are on your feet all day. I would wear them with black or dark jeans and black ankle socks. Jeans and polo shirts are cute too and go well with tennis shoes or your Rockports if they are darker color jeans and pol, Otherwise tennis shoes and while ankle socks.

I'm sorry, but tennis shoes with jeans look so naff, not to mention 80's. Try flipflops or some Gucci loafers.
