or gets one with substantial troop withdrawals as a requirement that he vetoes....does that not effectively cut funding for the war?

And can't the democrats then pass a specific bill with funding that can only be used to bring the soldiers home to get around the smear attempt that they left soldiers in battle with no bullets?

that way if they are left in battle with no bullets it really will be the fault of the man who decided to leave them in battle with no bullets.

It would also make them responsible for leaving a mess and instability in Iraq. But screw the iraqi people right. cause they aren't americans. No, you cut funding, you leave our troops high and dry. Then don't get elected, and getting elected is all that matters to the Democrats.

Even republicans on yahoo will honnestly tell you that the very next thing they will do if Democrats take that approach is do their darndest to paint the demcrats as abandoning the troops in the middle of the battle field. This anyone with a brain can tell you is a lie. No one wants to abandon anyone anywhere, and republicans know that. But it still won't stop them from accusing democrats of it. But I agree, this is exactly what democrats should do. But I am afraid they know what the republican lie and spin machine can do and they are afraid of it. I honnestly believe in my true heart that republicans are really evil people who knowingly will lie to get their way and worst. This subject is really another example of it.
They know that democrats only want the troops home and that part of the motivation is that democrats dont want to see the soldiers die for nothing. But the evil ones have no quarms about spinning it around to turn the love and caring for troops to mean hatred and abandonment.

Even if the Democrats were to cut funding george will simply shuffle the deck and draw funds from other budget divisions. This outright moron will continue to oppose the Congress on every possible point. Any time one branch of the federal government refuses to cooperate with another it amounts to High Treason and is an impeachable offense. He knows until the Nov 08 election there are sufficient repukes left to cover his sorry butt and this impeachment won't happen. People this is precisely what is fundamentally wrong with our current form of government! This is why you never want one party to be in control of both the House and Senate and the Executive branch at the same time! There should be a constitutional amendment to change it so this can never happen again!

i'm not an american and i wouldnt say he's right. all things about al qaeda and those WMD don't even have any proof. he just urge for some oil. and, maybe someday YOU couldnt even say he's right when you country getting (a pre emptive) attacked because your country accused to have a biological weapons that could caused masses destruction (and couldnt even be proofed), and people around YOU like your mother, brothers, sisters and children getting killed while they dont even know anything about WMD. And because there's nothing to be found, the attacker easily changing the reason like they switch their undies, to be a humanitarian interference, because your country said to practice human-right-abusive-law that YOU don't even recognize (maybe your former president abuse human right attacking other country like what saddam have done, but u don't know anything about it right?).. and settle a new government YOU didn't even choose - that couldn't even stand on their own feet - because they said it is more democratic. The dems do not have the votes to cut off all funding, nor would they have the nerve to do it. To leave our troops in harm's way without the means to fight? The dems would be dead before the next election begins.

Leaving the troops without equipment is pathetic and shameful.

You don't put someone in a position to defend themselves and their country and then deny them the nessacary supplies.

The democrats know this and know that it would be disgraceful to do so they simply don't.

They talk about it as a threat so people who support them will try and reason why they are a "Do Nothing" Congress.

No funds means no more war, and no more american soldiers getting killed. It also means we stop pissing away hundreds of billions of dollars like its going out of style, perhaps concentrating on bringin Bin laden to justice, cleaning up Afganistan, and protecting our borders from illegal aliens and terrorists. Hey it might even mean better healthcare and better bridges roads and highways, and better education for our kids.
