Hey there.
I'm a student and I had a meeting today with this women at my school for a work study position. i was 15 minutes late bc something came up and i couldnt call in bc the women never gave me her name or number. anyways i came in late and apoligized and explained why i was late. but this lady flipped out on me. i understand, i was in the wrong, but she could have handled it better...or simply tell me that she doesnt want to hire me. instead she went on a power trip about how she could say "BYE" to me right now and never see me again, and how she doesnt tolerate what i did and how i made a HORRIBLE impression on her. she ranted for at least 5 minutes, and rolled her eyes at me. I just thought she was going too far, but maybe I was being sensitive?
well she came across as a total *****, i never met anyone more unpleasant in my life...and i'd be working directly under her.
should i take the job, or keep my pride and decline it?
i need the money, but not that bad!

There's always going to be someone like this in every job you ever have in your life - might as well take the money and job experience.

In the end, you'll have something for your resume AND you'll know how to put a wall between you and your goals and distractions/people who are hard to work with.

You will learn to focus on yourself even when someone's ranting away in the corner - not a bad job skill.

if the position is offered take it. You were late so what can you expect. Had you been on time do you think she would be hard to work with. You would learn so many skills by taking it. Every job you go on there is gonna be that one person that you dont like or get along with or even be ranting on bout something. Just go and do your job and you wont have nothing to worry bout.

Go to *her* supervisor and explain that you won't be taking the position because of her unprofessional behavior. Granted, you shouldn't have been late, but her reaction was inappropriate as well. Never mind the money or your pride, this woman isn't worth your sanity. There are other jobs out there.

Wow, if she's that crazy at the interview, can you imagine what she'd be like to work for? No way! Some stuff just ain't worth the money. Find a different job that you can enjoy and won't have to feel like you're walking on eggs.
