I always get nervous when it looks like we have a great team, as we always prove the critics correct and lose to K-State...
With that said, I am just curious how fans of other teams feel about us. I have to admit the last couple of years, I have never had the feeling that we could possibly be the best team in the country. I always felt that a USC, LSU or Florida would kick our @ss. But so far this year, it is looking pretty promising. We may not know the answer until the end of the year, because if we beat Texas..well, Texas has not looked so hot, so that might not define much.
Just curious if other fans out there are taking notice that the Sooners might have something. Not encouraging you to think that way, as I would prefer to be under the radar...

Did not mean any disrespect to the Longhorns..and not claiming we will beat them. I said 'if' we beat them.
That is a game that if one team comes in 4-0 and the other is 0-4, well, the outcome is not predictable.
I was at last years game for the first time and have to take my hat off to the Texas fans..I saw nothing but respect from them and it was totally unexpected. Damn you, I wanted more reason not to like you!

It's hard to tell this early in the season, but I would put them at #2 in the country, behind LSU. You'll know more after the OU vs Texas game.

Other than the Texas game in a few weeks, the Sooners' schedule doesn't look too demanding and I don't see any reason why they can't go undefeated and make it to the national championship game. They have a few games that could turn into trap games; a trip to Texas Tech is always interesting for a top ranked team, and playing Texas A&M certainly didn't turn out well for Texas last year. However, Oklahoma should be favored to win all these games, and with good reason.
Go Cal Bears!

K-State fan here - your Sooners are National Championship good. I'm thanking my lucky stars that we don't have to play Oklahoma this year. Sooners have the best o-line in the country, a QB that looks like he's comfortable enough to take a nap in the pocket, the next best running back corp behind USC and a defense that could stop a few of the more pathetic NFL teams. As long as they can keep away from that let down game that seems to have gotten them the last couple years, they'll be playing in January for a Title. Next year, they'll have 2 leading Heisman candidates.

I am a Maryland fan (ACC). They should have had an 8 team or 16 team playoff system a long time ago. I look at it this way. At least Ohio State was in the National Championship game. Obviously they had the right to be there, regardless of how bad they lost. I like Oaklahoma also, but your right. That one year they didn't even win their confrence championship and STILL went to the National Title Game (only to get smoked by USC.) I think That was a good example of a team not deserving of a national title shot.

WHOOOOOOOOOOO THEM SOONERS ARE BURNIN IT UP THIS SEASON! LSU should be ranked 1 and Oklahoma 2. USC should be like 5th lol. I think LSU and Oklahoma will play for it all come January, and if the Sooners keep it up, they might get revenge on that title game from 3 or 4 years ago. Also dont the Sooners have a freshman QB? Thats amazing and also the loss of Peterson and replacing him. I cant believe the Sooners are kickin tail like they have been. They deserve a National Title with what their doing and I hope they get it this season.

The bad news is they will win the Big 12, the good news is they will not have to play Boise State. Texas looks terrible, Nebraska is the only team they have to worry about. Unfortunately, you will not be playing for the National Championship unless LSU looses then you will have to play USC.

I'm a USC fan... I want the rematch. USC will be there, and I know the Sooners will be too. Can't wait. SEC and Big East ain't got squat on the Big 12 and Pac 10. Yeah, yeah, yeah, east of the Mississsippi has no football this year, LSU/WVU whatever.... You were the clowns who rated Michigan so high. Trust me... those votes didn't come from the PAC-10.

theyre pretty good, but they still have a lot of growing up to do, sure they manhandled miami, but miami is no where near where they were on offense, or (especially) defense, as they were a few years ago.. but they might be able to pull off a great season and get into a bcs bowl.. but i doubt that they'll make it to the national championship.. lsu and usc look strong as hell this year, but you never know.

When the QB starts to come back down to earth (83% comp percentage) we will see how good he is... just remember that in college football, it only takes one bad game to pull you out of the running (especially late in the season).. and that game could be the Big 12 Champ game.
As an MSU fan, glad Nichol is sitting the bench like a nerd... enjoy sitting for 4 years turd.
