any online website for socializing for someone in the mid 20's, out of school and working? i just moved back in my hometown and have already gotten out of touch with many college/high school buddies for a long time. i do socialize at work, but work is busy, and many coworkers alrready have sig others so they dont really socialize too much with each other. i have a couple buddies that i hang out once in a while but our free times dont always coincide either. i'm looking for a mature (by that i dont mean xrated) site for chatting or getting to know other people in the area, which excludes facebook/myspace/xanga

online... maybe friendster or imvu?
its easy to find your friends or long lost friends through friendster if you have just one of their emails.
imvu allows you to specify the location of the people you wish to talk to plus its 3D.
also.. isnt yahoo answer a good place too?!

Why not join some of the local clubs. Check the living or local events section of your newspaper. It would be so much easier for you to get to know someone, if they shared your interests. I really don't recommend online relationships. It is too easy to lie about the person that you really are. Then you have wasted all of that time when you actually meet them, and find out that they are nothing like what they described themselves to be.

what about your local newspaper? you could always place an ad in there to find someone with the same interests? i wouldn't encourage a person to sit on the net looking for friends, join a gym, join a club or look on your local community board
