I think it's harder to be a male - mostly because of society still expecting a man to be the main breadwinner, to bring home good money, to be the one to turn to in any crisis, etc. Sure, a female can do all that too (and women do!), but society still expects the man to perform in certain ways, yet women can show emotion and be seen as taking a step back when they want to. No one is going to bag a woman for taking time off when a baby is born, but everyone will bag a man!

That is a hard question. There are pros and cons on both sides. Having a baby is painful but yet what an experience! I wouldn't have traded it for any amount of money plus it is the closest I ever felt to a miracle. I also sometimes think I get upset because of all the non-ending housework that just goes on and on and on.
But I also know that men have their own loads in life to carry. They worry about their occupation and whether they are taking care of their families financially. I do realize that these days women worry about much the same things, too. Like I said --there are pros and cons on both sides.
I enjoy being a woman and I love men. :o) I have son, 2 adopted sons, a grandson, a husband, 3 stepsons, 1 step grandson, so I love the male gender, also.
I think they are equal in what they have to put up with in life!

well, females get periods, resulting in pains, give birth, and go through pregnancy, cexual health checkups are internal and mean poking and proding, where males are just a look at the outside (i think, don't hold me to this)
males are meant to be tougher and providers, and expected to work harder jobs to support families, and also deal with us females!!
i'd say it depends on the individual and those around them, not the sex.
and i reckon its kinda cool if a guy cries, or shows emotion, cause a lot of guys bottle it up and act like as*holes ho deal. i'd prefer an upset guy then one who acts as if the world owes him something....

Female! Men do not have cramps, nor do they give birth. Not mention that once a month thing. Men do not have to wear those high heels or pointed toe shoes. Men do not have to go tho a "Gynecologist" either. Men do not have to mess with bras, nylons, or jerk men that don't know what the hell NO means. Any more question? (Yes, I am a guy. A 55 year old one. And I stand by my answer.) OOPS, I forgot about menopause.

I think both have thier pros and cons but from where I came from, We are taught that being a female is harder because they are the ones who give birth to a child.
Based on experience its harder to be neither.

hmm... lets look at the pros and cons.
Male - pros:
1- can pee standing up
2- don't have to give birth (except for Schwarzenegger in that movie)
3- do not have any "bad time of the month"
4- can grow a beer belly and still have an attractive, loving girlfriend
5- is expected to be a jerk anyways and to not show emotion
cons:
1- normally expected to be the bread winner = stress
2- mostly insecure but must still act macho
3- often must do most of the work in bed...
4- gets embarassing erections at the worst possible moments and must constantly find ways of hiding them.
Girls- pros:
1- usually don't have to do the "asking" for a date
2- free drinks at the bar or club
3- in the traditional role as housewife (like it or not it's still the norm - and I know they work just as much as boys while doing that if not more) BUT they don't have the boss breathing down their back all day
4- look good naked
cons:
1- must give birth "very painfull"
2- a brutal week every month
3- must deal with stupid boys
4- normally must take care of house and kids (not much time to rest)
i would say all in all - boys have it easier

It's harder to be the one that you're not.
I would imagine that it would be more difficult
to be a female simply because they have to undergo so many unjust hassles that a male
will never experience for as long as he lives.

Depends on how you look at it. I can pee in a nasty rest room without touching anything. I don't have periods.
On the other hand, when I go to a bar or club, nobody buys me drinks. If I want to meet someone I have to work at it. A woman can decide what is going to happen at the beginning of the night and it will probably happen.

Male. We have the same emotions as females, but were not allowed to show it. and when we do we get very seldom sympathy. but then females have periods and birth and all that..
