It is your duty to shed light to darkness. Remember that saying that it is better to be a candle (light a candle) than to curse the darkness.

It sounds like the phrase might be "post tenebras lux", meaning "After darkness, light"; a popular Calvinist motto.

i think it means light in darkness... it was my high school's motto. end of conversation.... maybe they are saying to be a light in darkness in others lives???
