I have it specified on my driver's license and have notified my family that I want my organ's donated if they are still usable. I okayed the donation of my husband's organs after he was on life support and died from an automobile accident on Valentine's Day of 1996. The only organs unusable were his lungs as they has collapsed from the accident but they were able to use most all other organs plus much more from him. He was only 42 years old and had a strong heart and a good liver and 2 really good kidneys. I have heard from the heart recipient's wife through the organ donor organization and he is doing really great! :o)

They don't put it on driver's licenses in AZ anymore, but it's well known among my family that I do want my organs donated. It's the family who will make the final decision anyway, regardless of what is on your license.

I am actually a bit conflicted with this question. I really want to help someone who may need them when I am gone, but there is something in me that is saying no. Its strange! I am the kind of person to do ANYTHING for anyone, but on this topic.... I don't know, I guess I am still undecided and thinking about it. That's about as honest as it gets!

Yes I am. And my wife knows that. Once I'm gone, harvest me to the bone. I don't need it anymore.
A blind man received my grandfather's eyes after he passed away. That was my grandpa to the very end. He gave someone he didn't even know the gift of sight. That's what inspired me to sign my card. It always kind of creeped me out but after that, I want to do it.
