You're talking about Michael Vick...Kevin Everett is a completely different person. Show a little respect

No disrespect intended towards Kevin, as I wish him the best...but can we also say a prayer and send healing thoughts to everyone else who is suffering?

I am not implying that your intent was only to wish a relatively famous guy good health...Just saying that he does not deserve more healing prayers and well wishes than just about anyone else in the country that is hurt.

So please pray for him, but don't forget about those that have no national exposure but still need our prayers and healing thoughts.

Sergio---you are an idiot. Period, end of story. Go back to looking at porn online, and leave the thinking for those who are equipped to handle it.

As for the post...It is terrible to see some one in this shape, especially for the sake of a game. As much as I love football.....I have to feel that we are becoming so much like the ancient Romans in our love of violence and bloodsport. Just start looking at the injury list from any season....look at the people permanently crippled from the game...from concussions to alzheimers and parkinsons. It really bothers me to see 19 year old kids having to have major surgery.....

When are the leagues going to adress this, with better protective gear, rules, anything? I love football, and I don't plan on stopping watching, but everytime I see something like this, it leaves a ball of ice in my guts.

I do hope Kevin makes a full recovery....and his "millions" (being a backup....more like hundreds of thousands), are still no compensation for the loss of quality of life that comes with paralysis.

That said...I have to completely agree with Robert C......I wish the guy the best....but there are millions suffering, here and in the rest of the world. Lets try to keep this iin perspective...and not be seduced by the power of celebrity.

Personally I dont pray or believe in god, but the players were practicing their religion. And probably more than anything, just saying to each other, "lets hope he is ok." Now if anyone was forcibly made to attend, then there is a problem. I dont think the ACLU has a leg to stand on in this issue.
