Let me elaborate. I'm trying to improve my brain power and I've been trying to read as much as possible, but during those times when I don't have a book or anything to read I start thinking about random and useless things. What is one supposed to think about to increase his/her IQ, like what kind of questions should one ask him/herself to stimulate the mind?

Hypothetically lets say I'm locked in a white room with nothing around.

Have a journal with you. Think about and write down whats in your head - ideas, random thoughts, feelings, maybe some poetry. Hobbies you like. Books you want to read. People you want to meet. Questions on life you want answered. A journal can make you WANT to think.

Start developing ideas on what you you want to be in the world around you. Maybe organizing all these thoughts you have into a plan will give you a better grasp on what life has to offer.

I'd think about pure and unadulterated existence if I was locked in a white room without anything around... once I wore out thinking about the 'color' white. And rooms, I would have thought about the shape and size of the room, too. And I probably would have imagined other uses the room could be put to.

But that's because I'm first a writer, and though journalism was the game for years, fiction also is...and I have a fair imagination that can and does get a little carried away.

Still, after I was through with the room, I think I would start on my existence in it, and what my existence means... like whether it's of any importance in the long run, or the short for that matter; and in relation to others. Then I'd get global, then universal...

but all this is supposition. it's what i think would happen to me, though. helpful?

You're likely to go made if you are locked in a room. Many people are unable to master their own thinking. This is why solitary confinement is an ideal punishment for people and why people (astronauts for example) often begin to show signs of mental duress and illness.

Clearing the mind is the route to accomplishing the goal that you seek -- not more thinking.

If you have nothing with you,
Then mathematics will never let you don't.
The mind loves maths.

Think about a new board game, that could also make you a fortune. All the rules, scenarios, goals, barriers, etc.

Identify one of your fears, and then ask yourself what is behind that, then what is behind what is behind, then what is behind that, keep going till you get to the core fear.

Think of a new TV quiz show, again you will make a fortune.

The best of luck to you and if you make a fortune, send me 1%

Wisdom gained is not gained by intellect.
Choose a path first. what is it you wish to accomplish, to understand.
Asking the holy spirits of God always helps - this done by meditation and prayer, and deep meaningful thought - and placing all those other lesser thoughts on a shelf to be drawn from if you so choose (or not) at a later time. Simply take those lesser thoughts and put them on a far away shelf in your mind while you meditation begins with a prayer to the Almighty, to guide your mind, your spirit, your intelllect.

The Christian bible is the best.It says to think on things that are of a good report. It is the only book that is alive,it will speak to you.If you don't get fooled by demons, that it's not true or whatever.God(Jesus) is the only one that can give you true wisdom, and if you don't believe that then you'll never know the truth anyway.

I think we should think about how to improve ourselves, mentally and spiritually. That's what Bible says.

Life is a constant decision. Every minute theres always something to decide upon. What I wanna have for breakfast? Sausage or Bacon? And each decision, no matter how irrelevant the sudject is, affects your life and your future. And the outcome of it affects people surrounds you. You decide to kill yourself, people surrounds you will mourne and asked themselves what they have done to you for you to do it. In other words, we should constantly think about our actions/decisions carefully, this is our daily responsibility.

Look up words in the dictionary..understand their meaning..do crossword puzzles. You can "think" a higher IQ, you must challenge yourself to improve your IQ.
