this will be my second one and i'm 14 1/2 weeks... Everyone I tell that i'm having another u;trasound is concerened because this is the second one I will have... does anyone know what would be done or seen in this one? is there anyway to know now if i could find out the sex? Should I be concerened? when the dr said to schedule it he just said it was time for one...
the first one was done in confusion to my conception date. I thought I was further along (9 weeks) the doc thought I was further than that due to how I felt but the ultrasound showed I was only 6 weeks.... the dr said I felt bigger / further along because I am a little heavy set.

Telling the sex depends on the position of the baby usually. Your Dr. would have told you if there was anything for you to worry about. If there were problems then there would have been things that you would have needed to do to keep you and your baby healthy. Do not let people upset and worry you when they do not know what they are talking about. You should not be under any stress. It is hard on you and the baby. Some doctors do a lot of ultra sounds along the way. It depends on the doctor. Mine only did two with each of mine (I had three kids) but my sister got one every month with both of her kids. She had a different doctor. She did not have any problems that would have required so many. Congratulations!

The reason you are having another one is to confirm the first one on the due date. They do that a lot lately, it happened to me as well. I am not sure if they will be able to see the sex yet. While you are having the ultrasound obviously you will be able to find out. And that happens when you are bigger, it is tough to tell simply by the looks of things externally. Nothing to worry about, just lucky you get to see your baby again! And this time it won't look so much like a gummy bear.

It will be ok. I had one every 4 wks for awhile with my 2nd just because his heartbeat couldn't be heard with the doppler. I was 24 wks before the heartbeat could be found on doppler so I had many many before my son was born. If you were only reading 6 wks last time the Dr may want to check the heartbeat and the size and make sure baby is growing good. It will probably be to soon to tell the sex but if baby is big enough and legs are apart you may find out. Boys you can usually tell sooner if you get just the right angle for obvious reasons lol. Just relax, you will love seeing your baby again on the screen.

there is a slight chance you may be able to tell the sex, everything is formed at 14 weeks, its just small! At 15 weeks I could clearly see my son's penis, but it will depend on the position of your baby. Your dr is likely doing the ultrasund to re-confirm your dates, since you are measuring off from your first ultrasound. Good luck and congrats!

ultrasound is nothing to be feared....as much as i know...the docs check for the foetal development...that is if all organs have been formed well, check the foetal heart rate, if the growth the baby is according to the number of weeks...etc, normally ultrasound id done at the end of 1st trimester, middle of second and nearly at end of the 3rd,

No you shouldnt be concerned. This one is the actuall proper pregnancy ultrasound where they once again check conception date and to make sure everything is going ok with your baby.

it kind of depends on the doctor and the insurance. with some they do it very regularly some a great deal less. if this is baby number one that may be part i had KP with my first and i had quite a few and they do one for gestational age figures then they did one because i got sick and then one for the hell of it and a few more thrown in. it is kind of dependent.

NO DON'T BE CONCERNED AT ALL. THEY SOME TIMES DO TWO ULTRA SOUNDS. AND YES YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL THE SEX OF THE BABY. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS!
