My point is, can our cultures trigger certain things like depression and anxiety? Or do you think it's environment and brain chemistry? Or both?

Unless you have a hereditary tendency towards depression, your ethnicity can't make you more likely to be melancholy. However, on a less scientific note, I've noticed myself that we tend to be more cynical and pessimistic than other cultures (maybe it's the weather - living under a gray sky most of the year is not too fun)
