PBR all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok you didnt say bulls but thats my favorite flavor of tea.
Cutting and Roping 5 year old paint horse
Bonslyr you won't find a bull in the world better treated and well taken care of as the meat we ride. Same with the other live stock, goats, steers, calves and Broncs. Be a pretty Sheety rodeo woth mis treated and half dead live stock, wouldnt it LOL. Continue feeling good about yourself now........Ignorance truly must be bliss

I don't rodeo full time, do a lot of jackpots as money and distance to travel a circuit is out of my budget but I run barrels. I have done rodeo on horses from 5 all the way to around 15-16. These all being Quarters or Paints.

i ride bareback bronc and my girlfriend barrel races on her quarter horse!! my brother is also currently learning how to steer wrestle off of a quarter horse!!!
im 19 my g/f is 16 and my brother is 17
and for you bonsylar you really need to get your facts first off we dont use cattle prods on them that strap is called a flank strap and is nowhere near the animals testicles and most the horses use in bronc are mares or have been geilded!! and bronc spurs are dull me and my buddies run them down each others backs all them time to watch them get goose bumps and some of those animals make more money than you probly do!! these animals work for 8 seconds a day 2 days a week and less than 6 months a year and when there not working there free they can do as they please and noone tells them otherwhise!! so tell me how you think rodeo is cruel!! go ahead ill argue my point until the day i die!!
you people who think its cruel probly have never been to a rodeo!! and dont even try finding pictures with horses with spur marks or nothing because if you search long enough youll find them but the fact is these animals are recieving the best care and when there to old to do there job anymore they dont hafta do anything!! the famous pbr bull little yellow jacket retired in 2005 and all he ever has to do is get laid and thats it now how is that a bad life

I LOVE rodeo! When I was in High School I did. I ran barrels, poles, team roped, did cutting and my horse was used for calf roping, bull dogging and as a pick up horse. He could do anything and he even got Horse of the year!! He was a 7yr old Doc's Hickory QH. Very awesome horse.
Now I just barrel race. Not as fun but still gives me the rodeo feel. I don't have one going now, my big horse came up lame but he is a 12yr old OTTB.

Barrel racer, all the way. Love the whole program, even the clowns.....and trick horses....
Been competing since 1979.
Barrel Racing in Rodeos, since 1986.
I have used horses of all ages above 6 and stick to stock breeds, Quarter Horses and Paints mostly.
Hope this helps.
I actually did my term paper in college on rodeo. Taking a look a both sides of the controversy. Got a big A+ for the paper.....
I believe in educating myself before I spout off about something and I think others on these Answers forums should do the same.
If you don't like Rodeo, then change the channel, don't buy tickets to go, and don't think about it when you are at Black Angus, the next time, chowing on a nice juicy steak.
....Maybe..... I don't like doggy breed shows and agility competitions, but I'm not going to go off about them....
And, how about those Diamondbacks? hehehe LOL

I love watching rodeo, and I would compete if I could, but my horse isn't really show worthy. And we don't have a trailer. i practice barrel racing with my friend though, and I may learn to rope soon.

I barrel race with Pro-west and NBHA. I have a 4 year old Paint stallion and a 15 year old seasoned Quarter horse mare that I run. I also do local gymkhana's too. Like poles and other fun games on horse back.
