Alot of the time it is the distance that helps the illusion. When someone is just around the corner it is easier to take them for granted or meet up with them and (all to often) end up disappointed. However when someone who we have only met online lives so far away, they can still stay that onlione friend without any of the disappointments and frustrations of the all too human reality!

I haven't met any nice people online. A few people from yahoo answers contacted me saying they wanted to be friends ended up to be either perverts or weirdos after i chatted with them over the internet.
I do hope to meet someone nice & sincere to be online pen pal. Anyone interested? I am from Asia. Let's be friends if you live far away (haha) and between age of 25-35. :)

It can be true, but like another YA wrote, I had the same experience, got to know someone on-line, turned out they lived 6000 miles away!
But it did'nt stop us getting together. If it is meanth to be, it just is!
But like any relationship, close or far, you must work at it. Hope you meet someone nice soon.

That is why they allow you to become close, because you are so far away. And they do have to worry about you wanting to meet them. Some people on the sites just want to be pen-pals. And nothing else.

Its because online you get to know someone in a entirely different way.
I met my now husband online and we lived a long distance from each other.
I eventually moved to be with him and we eventually got married
Give it plenty of time and all will work out
Good luck

Probably because the inter net is such a big thing, about as big as the planet were on. And on Q n A people all over our planet can read and answer them ? and that's how we seem to make friends

Bet they're not a million miles away...
Bet they're 12,000 miles away at the most.
There, not such a big problem is it?

You would think the staggering Airline Industry would be marketing themselves more as the obtainable solution to this problem.
