A man lives in the penthouse of an apartment building.
Everyday he comes home, he says hello to the dooorman & proceeds to the elevator.
Once in the elevator he pushes the 7th floor. When he reachs the 7th floor he gets out & proceeds to the stairs & walks the remaining floors.
The next morning on his way out he gets in the elevator from his penthouse & pushes the ground floor button, says good morning to the doorman & he's on his way.
Comes home that evening & does the same thing. Pushes the 7th floor button, gets out & proceeds to use the stairs for the remaining floors.
The next evening he comes home & its been raining. He says hello to the doorman as he always does & proceeds to the elevator.
However he doesn't take the stairs for the remaining floors.
WHY????

The man is only tall enough to reach the 7th floor button of the elevator, meaning he can easily reach the ground floor button.
On the rainy day he has his umbrella so he can reach the penthouse button, meaning he doesn't have to walk up the stairs.

Because he usually takes the rest of the flight of stairs for his daily exercise but his shoes were wet from the rain this day and he didn't want to slip and fall all the way down the stairs.

Because he's a midget and punched the button with his umbrella on the rainy day.
Of course, this riddle is so old, he should be pushing the button with his cane every day.
