yes, sorta both though. you have to be opposites but you have to have a few things in common.

The laws of nature seem to suggests that opposites do indeed attract. Of course, it depends on the parameters. If one's a drug addict and the other is a purist, there's not a snowball chance in hell of that working out. But diverse opinions and interest can enrich both sides of a relationship. Similarity, on the other hand, will lead to overfamiliarity and ultimately lead to a boring union.

The attraction of "opposites" must be balanced with a willingness in each person to make allowances for one another and to learn from another, or it's just two people doing different things.

Opposites attract, then quickly repel. There needs to be commonality for a relationship to work long term.

yeah they do. Some similarites are needed but i think for the most part if we were people who were exactly like us we would get bored(just my opinion)
Opposites can work out together. Me an my boyfriend are almost complete opposites and we have been together for 4 years.

Opposites attracts, but you have to be a strong person to have a happy long relationship. I myself opt for similarities, because it is a little simpler.

It doesn't really matter about if you're opposites or you like different things, what matters is that you can get along, have a healthy relationship and love each other. All that "we have so much in common!" stuff is foolish. So many people who are together are totally different and have like 50 year marriages!

I think it could go both ways, but I think opposites are better. Opposites will balance a relationship.
