Yes we do. On the other hand, we expect nothing from Democrats and they almost never disappoint us in that regard.

There is nothing wrong with the Republican philosophy: limited federal government, limited governmental spending, more power going to the states, etc. The issues come in when they start waving the Bible and espousing 'traditional values' to such an extent that their theology becomes seen as philosophy and is therefore applied, however clumsily, to democracy.
Funny thing about all this is that 100 years ago, the Republicans were the liberals and the Democrats were the conservatives. Weird how things travel in cycles. Right now, it's okay to vilify the government because the people on the news say so. What we should all be doing is getting out of our armchairs and doing something about it.

I think we should expect more from all our elected officials.
Also, remember that the actions of a person does not necessarily void the message.
You can say murder is wrong and then murder someone. The fact is that murder is still wrong.
The message of strong families, heterosexual marriage, having strong morals, etc. is a good message and these are the things that make strong families and a strong country.
These things do not lose value because someone does something to counter them.

yeah, and we don't expect anything from spaced out, lacking in common sense libs. And that is exactly what we as a society get from them...nothing. Maybe they're so much smarter than repubs that they focus on important issues like how to save baby whales while realizing (in their vast superiority) that mass infanticide (or abortion to people with no common sense) is a great idea...as long as Americans are doing it to their own country and not implementing it in an area like India or China-because then it would actually be killing innocent little babies, now wouldn't it?

Republicans use minor wedge issues to divert the attention of naive people from the real issues of our day.
They tout "family values" for example while promoting an actual culture of death.
They tout "free markets"...there is no such thing...while tying the hands of working people by making it difficult for workers to organize and bargain in unions.
They tout no gay marriage and that marriage is between a man and a woman while ignoring the gays in their own party and the Vitters who speechify piously out of one side of their mouth while using the services of prostitutes.
They tout responsible fiscal policy while running up a deficit that our children and grandchildren will pay for and which increasingly causes our dollar to be worth less as compared to the Euro and other currencies.

Liberals are the ones who are holier than thou since they are consistently ALL far worse than even the worst of the worst Repubs.
A little bit of Republican hypocrisy doesn't even begin to compare to the fascist lock-step unified voice of liberalism consistently promoting evil as good and decent and normal behaviour. To liberals, evil is a wholesome way of life to be openly promoted to all.For them to then turn around and try to call hypocrisy on a few Repubs who are merely acting in the way that liberals would like every person in this country to act is just the height of hypocrisy.
Moral outrage coming from liberals is just as absurd as moral outrage coming from Nazis or Joe Stalin. It means nothing.NOTHING.

no I do not expect anything better from the republicans who are nothing more than religious zealots and who run their campaigns using fear tactics.
As for those religious folks there is a bible passage that I feel fits these people.....Matthew chapter 7 verses 21 - 23. How fitting it would be....
Before people start jumping on me about being a democrat, I cant stand them either.

No, actually I expect worse from the holier-than-thou types. I'm not at all surprised that Sen. Craig looks for sex in airport bathrooms.
People who are truly moral focus on living their own lives in a way they feel good about. Holier than thou people are just looking for a way to push other people around.

No, I don't expect more from the party of "family values". It's rather amusing to see them foam at the mouth with all the rants and namecalling.
