FOR!!!!!..I own a big beautiful Pitt Bull. His name is Bruno and he is the most gentle of any dog I have ever owned.My grandchildren ride on his back. Pitt Bulls are not mean,,Their owners make them mean.

I think people that want to have a pit bull should have to undergo a series of requirements!
A common sense evaluation.
proper facilities to house the animal.
Training for both the owner and animal.
Required to take out a large insurance policy.
Most people are too stupid to handle the responsibilities of an animal like a pit bull. For most people, NO!!!

I have a pit mix puppy, and she is the sweetest. How are people going to be against having them as pets? Not every pit bull is aggressive. Jeeze!

Against. I agree that how they are trained has a huge difference in behavior as with any dog. I have friends that had pit bulls and they were great dogs. It is the ability for harm that no one can predict that would make me say no. They can lock their jaws and not be able to let go even if they wanted to. It is not a breed I would personally have as a pet.

Having them as pets is different than having them as pets and then abonding them. I think I am more against animal abandonment than pit bulls

AGAINST!!!
Here where i live have been several cases where pits LITERALLY chewed the faces off children!! They NEVER change. They CANNOT be trained to be nice!
They KILL and they are ACTUALLY turned on by the scent of blood. They smell it and they go mad!
My aunt has 2 of these psycho monsters and they have done NOTHING but kill other animals, TERRORIZE her house and STINK up the place.
Pits were developed by inbreeding which is a factor. They are ALL CRAZY!!! DO NOT believe ANY good things people may say!! They will kill you if youve RAISED them ! They only have one thing on their minds....KILL KILL KILL!
Some states ahve bans. I hope they ban em and euthanize em altogather.

It is not the animal, but how it is raised. The owner still has responsibilities to watch the animal, but I would not fear a well-trained pit

I guess I'm against. I wouldn't want one. I know there are alot of nice pit bulls, but there are also nice poodles...and I wouldn't want one of them either.
