Do you think Mary Winkler should have been found guilty of first degree murder?

She works within 2 miles of where I live.

She sounded like she could hardly communicate her feelings or explain exactly what went on in a complete sentence and I found myself getting slightly irritated trying to understand exactly where she was coming from.
She's a NUTCASE...guilty of first degree murder and should have been sentenced to life in prison but instead was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and then released on 8/14/07 from a mental health facility where she received treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder and depression after being sentenced to 210 days in prison but only served 67 days for the shooting death of her husband, Matthew.
Sure, I have no doubt there was spousal abuse and he mistreated her...BUT, you don't go killing someone in their sleep with a Shotgun for that...you divorce them.
Our society is all twisted up with this thing that having a mental disorder is an excuse for doing bad things...this is so wrong. The punishment should fit the crime.
The Mary Winkler case is another travesty of justice ala, O.J. Simpson and Robert Blake...with Phil Spector up next to be found NOT GUILTY after putting a gun in Lana Clarkson's mouth and pulling the trigger.

I'm not sure. I live close to the town they were living in at the time
of the murder. I didn't follow the trial closely but alot of people who did think she shouldn't. I still feel like she could have just left him.
