Too bad George Bush abandoned the hunt for Al Qaeda and Bin Laden and decided to waste our blood and treasure on a completely unrelated diversionary plunge into Iraq instead.

In terms of actual security- the ability to enter the US and harm Americans I feel that 9/11 hasn't changed that. The tragedy brought the threat from others to the forefront of Americans' consciousness but that doesn't mean the threat wasn't there before. It was, and had an extensive history before.
Have we implemented enough changes which would warrant Americans feeling significantly safer? I think not.

Are more people around the world committed to the death and destruction of America and Americans, convinced that America is the enemy? I think so.
We are not in good shape.
And "Jon M" I disagree with you. What about the memos within the FBI that were circulating in August? Also we did have hint about hijacking planes as they have been hijacked by terrorists since the 1970s.

Before 9/11 I like many others felt safe. None of us knew what was coming. How could we? We shoul've though. No I don't feel safer. The liquids and shoes thing on planes is absurd. Now we've messed up another country and keep changing our terms, the "mission" and we're hunting some guy in the mountains who needs a good beard trim. More important are the country infrastructure. Look to the bridges and tunnels and water and eletric supplies. Anyone who goes low tech would, while we're all looking at our planes. And it might be nice to check that cargo at ports, you know, like ALL THE TIME . We certainly live in strange times. The thought of 9/11 never leaves me though. mslutzky

Any day could be my last. That was true before 9/11 and is just as true now.
I'm less likely to die or be injured from a terrorist attack than from a lot of other reasons. That also hasn't changed since 9/11.
If you are asking if invading Iraq has made U.S. citizens safer, no, I don't think it has. But I do think a number of post-9/11 efforts, including cracking down on terrorist cells worldwide, has weakened the efforts of terrorist groups like Al Quaida.

Oh recover from the undesirable Clinton bit, he sunk himself, he mandatory NO help from every person to try this!! Bin Ladens first attempt on the Towers back in 1993, grew to become into decrease than Clinton, which he grew to become into too busy to do something approximately it, then the bombing of an American Embassy in Africa, then the united statesCole, many have been killed, all decrease than Clinton, did he do something???? NO! So, 9/11 surpassed off and Bush reacted like a President ought to, and we've not had any assaults on account that, so do i think risk-free?? sure, allot greater advantageous than i'd if a participant from the opposing group grew to become into as much as bat....... Really you can't look at it the same way. Before 2001 nobody in their right mind would think that someone would hijack planes then ram them into civilian buildings.
Our consciousness to what is out there has changed. We as a society were forced to grow up a little bit more on 9/11. That tragedy made us realize that the world isn't as safe as we thought it to be.

I think that there is a higher risk of terrorist attacks nowadays, but that doesn't have anything to with 9/11.It has everything, though,to do with Iraq...
Edit-Hahaha...'I love how Jeremy R had to quantify Bush's manhood, like he's not too sure about that.
