Your University should have a Career Center - That's a good place to start.

Usually now is the time to apply and they let u know in Feb- Mar time frame give or take a month each way. Ur college campus has a career office placement center... there u can find out about internships both paid and not paid. Depending on ur interest it can be a fantastic opportunity.

With the exception of a few national internship programs, you probably won't be able to look for a summer internship much before April. That may change in later years, when the internships are seen more as auditions for permanent jobs, and companies may do much more thorough interviews.

Start networking now. I went to the Career Fair on campus during the Fall semester to get my name out to companies early and went back in the Spring semester Career Fair to ask for an internship and most of them remembered me and I got several offers for internships for over the summer. The key is to network through professional student clubs and if employers come to campus recruiting, go to their information session, introduce yourself to them and get contact names and numbers, figure out who's who in the business.

The best time to start applying for summer interships is March or April. Most businesses are just bringing either other interns off from the fall.

The professors are writing one letter and making copies for each place you persist with to. in all possibility their departmental secretary is making those copies and mailing the letters. you are the guy would be filling out all the needs. in case you pick to do it, i might say it fairly is worth it then.
