Beyond the literal car crash in the film's opening scene, what might the title signify?

I think it signifies how the lives of the individuals in the film all crash together, changing each of them for better or worse. They all bounce off of one another like frenzied pinballs, changing each other in various ways.

Symbolic for peoples lives in Los Angeles. There are so many different races, ways of upbringing, backgrounds, social status, ways of thinking, etc. that when faced with each other they "crash" It could be symbolic for a lot of reasons. Peoples ignorance colliding, Los Angeles being so damn small that eventually they have to crash into each other. Crash sounds cooler than collide.

I never thought that movie was about race relations but instead I think it was a movie about the good and evil in everyone using race as the vehicle. Each player had different mixes of good and evil but in the end, evil would wreck them.

if you really watched the movie and understood it,you'd understand how one thing can bring so many peoples lives together.and how they affect each others lives in the smallest or the biggest ways.they're lives were impacted and suddenly "crash"ed together.

first of all,
i love that movie. soo many great great actors and actresses!
being a resident of LA and being born here i can tell you that there are lots of ethnicities that live here.
LA has quite a history with racial things so
all these nationalities.. "crash"
:) it's one of those eye openers that movie is. how diff people treat other people. how other ethnicities treat other ethnicities. or it shows are we are STILL like that today and it should stop :)
