Or do you take the shortcut and allow the pressure of the moment to make you do something dishonest or dishonerable??

In general we take shortcuts in life to skip problems but that decision in the long run will end in the magnification of the problems. That's my experience.

Dishonest or dishonorable routes are definitely out of my options.

There's only one way to make the things: Correctly from the start.

Shortcut need not necessarily be either dishonest or dishonorable in which case it can be the best way. Yielding to the urgency and embarking on an action without sufficient thought is the trap we fall into more often than not. Well organized effort should also ensure 'the urgent' are not allowed to overwhelm us. Being overly busy handling urgencies all the time is a sure sign of leading a futile life, for that leaves no scope to address 'the important'. The important rarely give us leeway for much of a shortcut.

Without a doubt I try NEVER to be dishonest nor dishonorable. For it matters not what others may think of me, but I think of myself....is extremely important, and I don't wish to be always going over that which was wrong, and dishonorable for the rest of my life. So it is always best never to take that short cute that would destroy yourself for only you are what matters in the end and that end must and should end on the best points you can manage through out your life.

Finding a better way however, is something we can attribute to our knowledge, and once you have found a better way and truly will help in the end, then so do so. Be true to the self. That is all anyone need to do. And all else will follow, those you meet, will be true to you.

I don't always look for a better way, I must admit... though what I tend to do is come to a full stop for a while. I don't think I've done much that can be called dishonest, or anything at all (I sincerely hope) that can be called dishonorable. Jeez. I mean that last one would really pinch, huh?

EDIT: I guess I am truly lazy to just stop on a project for a while, huh? But it has tended to work for me. Perhaps I'm still thinking of said project and not really aware of it, since I do go back to it eventually...anywhere between ten minutes to a couple of hours or so later. Hmm.

Well, I'd not do anything dishonest or dishonorable....but, I try to find the quickest way to finish a task or meet a deadline - while still being thorough and accurate.

In many things, however, sometimes the "old standby" ways are the best.

If I am doing something thoroughly enjoyable, I try to prolong the fun by stretching the activities as much as possible.

AHAHAHA (belly laugh) Sorry I just got a familiar picture in my head. for some things I look for a better way, its not always the quickest or shortest way, but thinking ahead, bigger picture thingy, it makes life easier in the long run. For other things I jump in feet first, never read instructions (`cos I know what I want) I cant say the results are dishonest, as for dishonorable ? its normally just my ego that gets slightly (or hugely sometimes) dented. It does make for interesting humour though, not to mention the personal development, so I don't mind

What i practice in myself when doing things is that i do it right the first time. That's following the "DIRFT" principle. I don't wait to be pressured if i have given a task. I do it right away and don't wait till the target is already very near. I do it slowly but surely to avoid mistakes. I don't do things to be dishonest and to credit me as dishonourable for this will just lead to wrongful doings. Honesty is the best policy as they say.

Thank you for the question. Have a wonderful day!

It depends on how tired i am....more than likely, if i find a better way, then it will require "less work" then i will be able to get other things done. The more i think about getting things done in better ways, then they become my "teachers" for future projects..and life becomes a bit "smoother" from there, whereas, if i didn't take the time to to find out how to do better, i'd still be stuck way back under a pile of stuff, frustrated and wanting to give up and end up throwing much of it out the window.......lol......

I always analyze how to do anything more efficiently, period. If it will take longer, I will do it that way; I do this with everything in my life. In my mind set, everything is like a puzzle, I try to decide which piece fits first, find my life flows more smoothly and I am a happier period. I never take short cuts because that is a sloppy way to reach my goal and I don't feel a sense of accomplishment. I have been this way all my life and it seems to work for me.

As a good human being it is our obligation to always find a better ways from every option we face. But the honest way may be the hard way, and people tend to take the easy way and didn't think about any thing else
