Ok here is the daily consensus:

9am: Wake up, shower, small breakfast.
9:45: Check e-mail
10am: Do first on-line casting call check
11am: Make daily phone calls (Agents, managers and the like)
11:45: Hit the gym
1pm: Light lunch, catch up on news
2pm: Little bit of free time, usually try to write or do something creative.
3:30: Second round of on-line casting calls
4:30: Checking e-mail again
5pm to Midnight: Is a mix of things from classes and working jobs to taking meetings and cooking dinner.

Of course auditions can be thrown in anytime slot on a whim. You'd also have to budget time to read other scripts, study etc.... Not the glamor life, but it works for most of us, so that we don't have to have second jobs and can just focus on acting.

On the set it's a little different. From our last call sheet this was the schedule. (It's a commercial but still, it gives you an idea)

9am: Crew call
9:30: Cast call
9:45: Make-up and hair
10:30: First shot
3pm: Lunch
4pm: Return to set
9:30 Wrap

The average actor does exactly what TheatreDoc said plus hang out and spend what little money you do have on doing whatever... movies, bowling, etc. Don't forget to call your agent to check in and hopefully not bug too much. Just remind them that you're there :-) Plus aside from waiting tables there other jobs that actors hold!

Wake Up
Practice Lines While brushing Teeth
Shower while doing lines
Look for work
Etc
Etc
Etc
Go to job and recite Today's Specials
Rehearse
Rehearse
Rehearse
Look for work.

That is Day 1.

Glamorous, n'est-ce pas?

On Fridays and Saturdays, we actually Act.

Sometimes on Sunday Matinees. And sometimes Wednesdays. Maybe, just maybe, we get a Stipend. Do not
hold your breath, however.

the average actor, card carrying union actor, spends most of his week looking for an acting job................. other than that, he is probably waiting tables somewhere, oh, year, he probably goes to an acting class once or twice a week also.

When not busy auditioning , reading scripts, and acting? They shop, lay by their pool, make plans to go to parties, workout, ...... they live the good life. That is, if they are making it.
