Yes, it soudns like you could have your baby very soon.
You don't always loose your mucus plug at home. Some don't even know if they loose it. I never saw mine.
Only about 10% of waters break at home. Most of them are broken by the doctor during labor.
I would time your contractions, and see if they are evenly spaced. If they are, there is a good chance you are in labor.

The loss of your mucus plus is not necessarily the beginning of labor, or contractions before ruptured membranes.
You'll know when it's time. Contractions every 3-4 min. lasting 40-50 secs regularly and that wont go away after plenty of fluids and rest is labor. Don't panic and keep active. Enjoy the early labor at home. Some times what happens to 1st time moms when they are admitted to L&D, they get in bed, iv fluids are started and their ctx space out. Then there may be a need to augment labor with pitocin. "ouch" stay focused and enjoy the ride, an epidural is waiting in the wings

Not every woman will lost their mucus plug so dont worry too much about that...so do and dont notice, and some say they have lost it when they really havent. every woman and pregnancy goes into labor differently too. and the last weeks of pregnancy can be confusing, and for you being a first time mom can make you really anxious and fell all these different symptoms making you wondering if you are in labor. so try to relax and get some rest. if your water breaks or you start having regular contractions for atleast an hour with them being about 2-3 minutes apart then go ahead to the hospital...also...some women lost their plug weeks before going to labor...so just wait for those regular contractions...they are best best indicator unless your water breaks!! good luck and congrats you are almost a mom!!!

It is possible to not have noticed your mucous plug. "Rock hard belly" means contractions. Are they relieved when you walk around? If so, then they are probably pre-labor contractions. If they are not relieved by walking and get stronger, then you are in labor. Most doctors want you to go to the hospital when contractions are regularly 5 min. apart for one hour; unless you are far from the hospital, then you should go sooner. Pains in the back can also mean labor, but you said your back is "sore", not in pain. A term pregnancy is 40 weeks, but it is not unusual for women to deliver 2 weeks before (38 weeks) or two weeks after that (42 weeks.) Unfortunately, because pregnancy gets very tiring, many women become anxious and feel that if they aren't in labor by 38 weeks; they need to hurry it along. Babies benefit by the extra weeks, in growth and development. Good luck to you.

I never had mucus that was blood stained that I noticed. It never came out in great big chunks either like I expected it to. My water broke the day before I was due. I think it's possible you may just not notice it and comes out overtime. So you could probably go any day....or in a few weeks. You can't really know for sure. I kept saying I was going to have it any second when I hit 37 weeks.

Sounds like braxton hicks contractions... Some women do not pass their mucus plugs untill they actually are in labor, and some before! it's not a big deal if you have not lost it yet you might not loose it untill your about to give birth! and you most likely would have noticed if you had already lost it.. its kinda hard to miss! lol but dont worry your fine! you should be getting checked every week now to see if you have dialted. If you start having contractions that last for 40- 45 sec. and come regular about every 2 min or so... your prob. in labor! otherwise.. sounds like braxton hicks contractions which are totally normal to have at 39 weeks! if your not sure what they are you can always "google" it! lol just type in "braxton hicks contractions" and you can read allllll about them! lol good luck sweetie im sure youll be fine.. just remember you dont have to loose your mucus plug before you go into actual "labor". hope i was of SOME help! :)

Since you have alot of mucussy discharge it doesnt have to be tinged any color... and heck you could have lost it a couple of weeks ago when you were sittin on the pot.... just saying that yes you could have missed seeing it, or that it doesnt have to be tinged anything, or be like me and lose it hours before having the baby... SO good luck and CONGRATS!! go walk a bunch to get the labor going and if your tummy gets hard time it (those are contractions) if they come frequently every 5 minutes your in labor! Keep us posted!!

I wouldn't count on the water breaking... it may not break... I have 2 kids & my water never broke with either pregnancy...
keep track of your contraction... if they're close and intense, you may want to prepare yourself... mine were anywhere from 2-7 mins apart... if the pain gets really unbearable, if possible, try to take a hot shower.. I did that with my son.. before the shower, I was 3-4 cm dilated... after the shower, I was 8cm dilated...
none of your questions are silly... this is your first time... your gonna be curious....
hope this helps...

not every woman loses their mucous plug until right before they deliver (literally, dilating 10 cm before losing it). others lose it and dont notice, so thats possible. vaginal pains are normal - your baby's head is becoming more engaged, meaning its lowering and getting ready. i was nauseous the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy, and actually threw up a few times. he was pushing against my stomach because he was using up all the space in there. your belly getting rock hard is probably braxton hicks contractions. completely normal. count yourself lucky that you're only experiencing soreness from it. i had to leave work at 32 weeks pregnant because mine were so painful i couldnt stand at times. you will deliver when your baby is ready and not before. all of the things you are experiencing are completely normal in the last weeks of pregnancy, i wouldnt worry. and dont get excited for labor until you have an actual contraction and they begin coming regularly and more strongly. i thought i wouldnt know when i was in labor because of my strong braxton hicks contractions but trust me, i knew the difference as soon as i had my first real contractions.
i knew for sure that i was going to pop anytime after 36 weeks because of all my labor symptoms, but a long 4 weeks later, he was born the day after his due date.

I am a retired OB nurse...Call your doctor NOW.
Not every woman sees their mucus plug. Personally I never did and I delivered shortly after getting to the hospital
Please call your doctor NOW.
Keep track of contractions They don't have to be equal minutes apart to be considered labor.
