I've done both and I can easily say a bunny is easier...and less expensive. A cat you have to clean the litter box daily and change approximately once a week. There are also annual vaccinations a cat would require. However, the bedding in a rabbit's cage needs changed approximately once a week (no daily cleaning) and there are no annual vaccinations for a rabbit.

a cat, as long as its trained really good to NOT piss in the couch or carpet becuase that can get VERY expensive. If you are thinking about adopting a cat or rabbit, depending on where you live (esp. in an apartment) I might opt for the bunny becuase they live, eat, and go to the bathroom in a cage...so even if it does get messy its confined to one area and not all over the furniture and carpet. Just be careful, but if you're poor like most students I would say rabbit.

Cats they're lots much less complicated to shield by way of fact all you're able to do is feed him nutrition and water and that they are going to be large collectively as with rabbits you're able to scrub the cage like a week and particular those cages are high priced and a cat you need to play with extra unlike a bunny who in simple terms sits in a cage yet I do see your mom's point of view to cats can scratch you and claw on stuff like the carpet or the rug yet i think that cats are extra perfect pets.

Its ALOT easier raising a cat than a bunny.

the difference between CATS and BUNNIES
*You dont have to worry about them peeing a pooping around the house ( just keep their litter box clean)
*Its easier to litter box train cats than rabbits
*You dont have to spend too much time with them to socialize them
* Most of them if raised when they are kittens wont bite and scratch you when you try to hold them.
*And they dont accidently potty on you when you hold cats
*Kitty litter is cheaper than bedding (you change the cat box once a month but scoop it out once a week ( you have to change bunnies bedding once a week))

But its up to you if you want a challenge.... and you can always find free kittens! =)

Nobody can truly make the decision for you.

All animals take time to properly care for. It sounds like you're pretty busy in your life right now. Maybe too busy for a pet at all.

You could try researching the care needs of the animals you're interested in and then make the decision of whether or not you are able to give an animal everything it needs from you.

As someone who has owned several of each, I'd tell you they are both high maintenance. They each require daily feeding, cleaning, and monitoring, can be destructive without behavioral intervention, and have a relatively long life expectancy.

Since you're asking which is easier to care for, I'd advise you to get neither, and opt for a lower maintenance pet, like a goldfish or hamster.

Hi,
I think its easier to look after a cat as rabbits can get sick easy if you leave it outside you have to cover their cage as they can get a disease from mosquito's, plus you have to buy hay for their enclosure (or if you put them on the grass you have to keep changing spots as the grass turns yellow) Plus rabbits aren't as affectionate as cats, cats can be kept outside and don't need no specific enclosure. Just make sure you desex your cat as they are wanderers and you wouldn't want the whole neighbourhood with kittens!

Well, I love cats , but i suspect that bunnys keep their feet on the floor, better, meaning the fur will be down low if they shed.
