10 - x = x - 6

- x = x - 6 - 10
- x = x - 16
Sec: subtract "x" (the one on the right side) from both sides.
- x - x = x - x - 16
- x - x = - 16
- 2x = - 16
Third: isolate "x" by dividing -2 with both sides.
(- 2x)/-2 = (- 16)/-2
x = (- 16)/-2
x = 8
The missing number is 8
