There are two boxes. One contains $100 and the other contains one penny. There are also two computers. One always tells the truth and the other one never tells the truth. You don't know which box contains the $100 dollars or which computer tells the truth. You are allowed to ask one question of one computer. What question should you ask to be sure of selecting the box that contains the $100.

You ask the computer what the other computer would say if you asked which one has the 100 dollars. If you are asking the lie computer it would point to the penny becasue the turth computer would say the 100 dollar one so it will point to the one that the truth computer would not point to. If you ask the truth computer the question then it would point to to the penny also becasue if you asked the lie computer which one would have the 100 he would point to the penny. So no matter who you ask the question you would just choose the oposite box the told you.

CL = Lying computer
CT = Truthtelling computer
P = penny
100 = $100

Ask either computer:
What would the other computer say is in the first box?

If the penny is in the box:
CL: 100 (CT would say P, so CL must lie and say 100)
CT : 100 (CL would lie and say 100, so CT says 100)

If 100 is in the box:
CL: P (CT would say 100, so CL must lie and say P)
CT : P (CL would lie and say P, so CT says P)

If the computer says 100, take the other box. If the computer says a penny, take that box. You'll always get the $100.

Doesn't matter which computer you ask. If you ask the honest comp if box #1 has the $100 in it it will say yes, if you ask the dishonest comp if box #1 has the $100 in it will say no. Either way, you get the $100.

Crossing fingers that I'm right!!!

I would ask the computer to please lie and tell me which box contained the penny. The honest computer would be forced to lie and the lying computer would be most happy to lie...I would then choose that box
