It's obvious they can't. They lost all credibility to alot of voters in their party and the independents. Even though we liberals knew they never had any to begin with.

Wow, so one person defines a group for you people? Or is it the few who are no longer in any form of power?
While I certainly do not condone anything anyone does that is illegal or immoral, I don't really see how the other side can have much to say.
Especially when the most glaring difference between a Democrat scumbag and a Republican scumbag is the Democrat scumbag's career generally continues and often gets better while the Republican scumbag's career is generall over or at least heads down hill.
While I understand political differences, I don't understand the kind of raw hatred often on display by those of you on the other side of the aisle from Republicans.

This is why I did not support the bush administration. They ran on being more moral than the last administration, and they proved how hypocritical they are. They are no better, and the Republican politicians proved it time and time again...
EDIT: As Jeremy is all the time, he is wrong. Many of the Republican candidates, including bush, used the campaign of Clinton and his adultery as their lead against Gore stating they will bring back morality into the White House and Congress.

Whenever someone makes a big deal about their moral superiority, be very suspicious.

No I haven't. I still hear them saying it. And they will say it even if every Republican in Congress is caught on tape participating in an orgy with each other.

Oh, there's still a few of them around, heads full of cotton, fingers in ears singing "La, la, la, la" that think it's all just the liberal media being hateful. That's their story and they're sticking to it.

We should always condem cons for trying to be moral. We don't want a silly thing like morality to get in the way of our fun.

I'd be surprised if they still claimed that. They have NO room to even try to claim they're morally superior.
