parallel universes
KKINGs right. (i believe)
"branes" are containers of "other" dimensions.
these dimensions seem to hold infinite universes and times existing all at once. (weird yes - crazy? no)
they float in the 11th dimension.
when they collide, energy and dimensions from one bursts THROUGH the "branes" and into the other "brane"
that brain contains our "canvas" and when the energy comes through, we get a big bang
possibly over and over over long huge more than astronomical periods of time(there was possibly NEVER A nothing)

This video explains string (M) theory but if you keep an open mind and watch it too the very END, understand "infinite possibilities" then the IDEA of God and Science can mix. I am ATHEIST, yet now do believe in a white bearded man looking being controlling my entire, life, salvation and universe
PERSONALLY
I think we should investigate more on what black holes do to quantum particles and dimensions.
It could be possible the black holes and their power open rifts or wormholes into other dimensions and all the energy the BHs suck up gets ejected into the other deminsion as a white hole (AKA Big Bang)
people say that this violates the second law of thermodynamics, yet truthfully all laws break down inside a black hole (and into a wormhole), so violations don't matter anymore. Where talking quantum physics not Newtonian physics
who knows.

As a person of science, you should realise that there is currently no answer available to this question. Our current understanding of the Universe is simply too young yet. Many advancements have been made in the last century and the last decade into understanding the makeup and physics of our Universe but more time is needed before we can say what started the Big Bang, what conditions existed, and what may have pre-existed. We live in a time when everyone wants these answers. But they simply do not exist yet. The possibility exists that this question may never be able to be answered.

Even people with degrees disagree about what, if anything came before the big bang. The simple answer is that time and space did not exist in they way we now experience them, so there is no way to say what existed before the big bang.

There was nothing before the big bang but a finite potential.
This produced a single space-time pulse of minimum size and duration that contained all the ingredients to evolve into the universe we see to-day

if you need to see degree to answer your question, then you are in the wrong side. First of all do you have a bachelors degree coz your questions not very clever. Ether. before big bang was ether. Religion and science do not mix. but i sugest you look both sides. science is how it all works outside of you, and religion, inside. The universe out there is you, my man. its you!

You say "but science and God don't mix." But you are asking about something outside the realm of science. Yet expect a scientific answer? And won't accept any mention of God?!?
You might as well ask for the scientific explanation as to WHY we ASK "why are we here? what is the meaning of our existence"?

According to popular explanation of the
theory there was 'a quantum fluctuation ..'
in a field which had 10 or 11 dimensions.
Must have been pretty strange.

If you absolutely need an answer from someone with credentials, try emailing the head of the physics and astronomy department of your nearest university.
Honestly, asking a question in a forum that encourages everyone to participate, then making a demand like that just makes you look like an idiot.

One of the theories out there is called the "M theory."
It would probably be more beneficial for you to look it up yourself, as I can't be as descriptive as you would like. The idea is that there are membranes in other dimensions that would have collided creating our universe along with many others.
