I dislike my job. I want to start looking for different jobs, and I want to know if I can stuck here legally.

It depends. You may not have signed a contract, but did you orally enter a contract? It's a twelve-month "agreement" so some courts might hold that under the statute of frauds, it had to be in writing if the at the time of agreement it wouldn't expire within 1 year. However, other courts hold that if the contract is 1 year from start to finish of employment, then it can be oral and binding. So, the big question is "Did you orally enter into a contract?"

As long as there was no written or oral agreement made, you can leave. Don't expect a good report for any future jobs from them though. Another binder is if they gave you specific training to accept the job. Your statement of a 12 month position makes me wonder if there is something you "forgot about" or missed when you hired on and signed the paperwork.

Unless there was a specific agreement in writing stating that the company could penalize you for leaving before your term, no you arent stuck there.
