register it with the writer's guild in Ny or LA, depending on where u live. Before u even get an agent, REGISTER your script, and try reading the book, by Dave Trottier, called Screenwriter's bible, and good luck!

Or you can contact the "full service" agencies and talk directly with their literary division and see if they are looking for clients.

WGA registration does not serve as a copyright and does very little to hold up in court should an issue arrise to litigation. Another form of copyright you could employ is to send yourself a sealed copy of the script. Hit all three options and you'd be pretty close to watertight.
