I always go with about 240,000 miles. But that isn't an exact number and it does vary because the Moon is in an elliptical orbit around the Earth.

The moon is in an elliptical orbit around the earth so its distance varies from day to day. Its average distance is generally considered to be about 239,000 miles.

Off the top of my head, I remember something like 239,000 miles. Wikipedia says:
Orbital radius: 384,400 kilometers (238,900 miles)

I calculate it to be on the average 230,676 miles from the earth. constantly changing as it spins around us in an oval pattern. wish it would stop doing that and go in a regular circle. take it back, that would messup the tides etc. god made it perfect.

About 250,000. Maybe a few less. Virtually sitting in our lap in astronomical terms.

It depends on your elevation. If you're standing on top of a mountain you're that much closer.
